Universe Racing/FireHouse Hood Raises $560
for Charity
Berwick, PA (August 26, 2011)- ARCA Racing Series presented by
Menards team, Universe Racing, and worldwide touring artists,
FireHouse, are proud to announce Everett Dickensheet as the
winner of a recent charity auction to benefit Alex’s lemonade
Stand.
The autographed hood from last seasons #28 Universe
Racing/FireHouse Dodge Charger was auctioned off on eBay and
Dickensheet, of Denver, CO was the highest bidder.
All of the proceeds will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand
(ALS), the official charity of Universe Racing. ALS uses the
monies to research, and to help children fight cancer.
Thanks to all parties involved and to Dickensheet for the
highest bid, the auction was a huge success.
Dickensheet isn’t only a FireHouse and Universe Racing fan. The
lifelong drummer and member of a band named “Fragments of
Silence” is also familiar with Alex’s Lemonade Stand, the
charity in which the auction of the hood will benefit.
“I know of Alex’s Lemonade Stand through Don Schumacher Racing
when they supported the charity in Denver, Co last July”, said
Dickensheet.
Not knowing where the piece that he won will end up long term,
he has plans for it once it arrives at his doorstep.
He commented, “I really don’t know where I am going to place the
hood, but it may end up in my practice space for our band.”
“I’m so glad that team owner Tony Aquilino and everyone
involved were all able to make this happen”, noted Steve Fox,
the driver of the Universe Racing Dodge Charger.
Fox continued, “This charity does great things and I know that
the funds will be put to good use. I’d like to congratulate
Everett on winning the auction and I’m sure he’ll be thrilled to
have a unique piece of both, rock-n-roll and racing”, and
Aquilino agreed.

Universe Racing and FireHouse Announce Charity eBay Auction for
Autographed “Race Used” Hood
Berwick, PA (August 10, 2011)- Universe Racing and multi
platinum recording artists, FireHouse, are proud to announce an
upcoming charity eBay auction (Item # 120762292295) for
autographed “race used” racecar sheet metal from Universe Racing
driver, Steve Fox in the ARCA Racing Series, presented by
Menards. However, this isn’t just sheet metal, as the cause that
it supports is huge for both the race team and also for the
band, FireHouse.
The auction itself is simple, and all of the proceeds will be
donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Founded by the late Alexandria
“Alex” Scott, who passed away from cancer at the age of 8, the
charity was designed to help find a cure for children who suffer
from cancer.
Up for action isn’t just a piece of racecar sheet metal, as it
is the entire hood of the Universe Racing Dodge Charger in which
Fox competed with last season in the ARCA Racing Series. The
entire hood is wrapped with a photo of FireHouse band members,
CJ Snare, Bill Leverty, Michael Foster and Allen McKenzie. The
hood was recently autographed by the band at a concert in
Clearfield, PA, along with race team members, including Fox.
The piece even has a little character, as it received minor
damage from a crash in the closing laps during its last ride at
Pocono International raceway in August of last season.
Rare and interesting, the hood will look great hanging from the
wall or ceiling in any type of sports or music related
establishment, garage or even a FireHouse or Universe Racing
fans living room. The best part is that the cause that the
auction supports will be the benefactor.
“We teamed up with Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the beginning of
last season”, noted Fox. “Alex herself must have been truly
awesome to start what she did, not only at such a young age, but
also while being sick with cancer”, he noted.
He continued, “If this auction helps even one child with this
horrible disease, I know that I’d be very happy and I’m sure
that the guys from FireHouse feel the same way. The whole deal
is pretty neat, but knowing that it’s going to a such a great
cause makes it truly rewarding”.
The members of FireHouse have the same feeling as Fox does in
regards to the charity auction and it showed through their fans,
both at the concert in Clearfield, PA and also on their Facebook
page.
The auction has begun and it will run for ten days. There aren’t
any hidden fees, such as handling or even shipping. Matter of
fact, Fox is going to pay for the shipping of the hood to any
address in the continental U.S. Unfortunately, due to the size,
the hood cannot be shipped outside of the continental U.S. The
eBay item number is 120762292295.
Steve Fox Enjoys Best Career Effort at
Pocono
Long Pond, Pa (August 7, 2011)- Hard work and dedication finally
came “Full Circle” today for Steve Fox and the Universe Racing
team today at Pocono International Raceway in the ARCA Racing
Series presented by Menards Pennsylvania 125. With his best
career finish of 16th in the series and also on the
lead lap, Fox and the team finally achieved their goal of
getting a top 20 run and they did it in style with a full field
of cars on the “Tricky Triangle”.
Menards Pole Qualifying was held on Friday and Fox ran the 28th
quickest time in the #50 Universe racing/FireHouse Dodge
Charger. Mother Nature postponed the 125-mile event from
Saturday to Sunday and the field took the green flag early in
the morning, following the Camping World Truck Series event.
Fox remained patient throughout and stayed in the top 20 all
day. Near mid race he cracked the top 15. Several yellows slowed
the race, and Fox remained steady, clicking off his fastest laps
of the event in the closing laps. He beat Pennsylvania rival and
Daytona winner, Bobby Gerhart to the stripe, as well as Pocono’s
recently named Chief Operating Officer, Nick Igdalsky.
Richard Childress racing driver, Ty Dillon, took the victory
over his teammate, Tim George, Jr.
“Today was a great day for Universe Racing”, noted Fox. “It
seemed like everything just fell our way today and I’m thrilled
with a 16th place finish on the lead lap”.
Unlike past races, Fox had a volunteer pit crew and they
definitely got the job done.
“Those guys (pit crew) were great today”. He continued,
“Everyone worked hard and I especially have to thank Gary
Sterner. He helped me for two nights a week over the last year
to rebuild this car since we wrecked at Pocono”.
Along with his sponsors and everyone else who helped out
Universe Racing, Fox noted that Dom Hurse and Kyle Martell
really helped with getting the bodywork and setup complete. He
also said that Gary Wentz from Wentz Auto Body provided
excellent transportation for the team’s equipment.
Despite the rain on Saturday and terrific effort on Sunday, it
couldn’t have been a better weekend for Universe Racing. Members
from the team’s public relations agency headed to the Clearfield
County Fair on Saturday to meet up with internationally known
band, FireHouse. The members of the group autographed the hood
from the car that Fox competed with last year and soon it will
be auctioned off on eBay, where all of the proceeds will be
donated to the Alex’s Lemonade Stand charity.
“I’m thrilled about the upcoming auction and can’t thank
FireHouse and everyone else involved enough for supporting it”,
said Fox. “I hope we can raise a ton of money from it for Alex’s
Lemonade Stand.”

Steve Fox and Universe Racing Set for
Pocono ARCA 125
Berwick, PA (August 1, 2011)- The hard work in the garage is a
thing of the past and the #50 Universe Towing/FireHouse Dodge
Charger that Steve Fox of Hazelton, PA competes with in the ARCA
Racing Series presented by Menards is ready to hit the tri oval
at Pocono International Raceway in the Pennsylvania ARCA 125
this Saturday.
Just weeks ago, it was announced that Fox’s car was not ready
for the first Pocono event and he ended up piloting a machine
owned by Wayne Peterson. The track time that day was crucial for
Fox and he’s more than excited about the 125-mile event coming
this weekend.
“To say I’m excited about this race is an understatement”, noted
Fox. “We’ve spent so much time preparing the car for this race
since the beginning of the season and I’m very happy where we’re
at right now”.
He continued, “The car has been gone over multiple times by the
great crew of guys that we have at Universe Racing, we’ve
repaired damage, updated the nose and threw a good setup
underneath the car- we’ll be fine come Saturday”.
Despite not running the Universe Racing entry in the first
Pocono event, Fox is thrilled with the support that the team has
heading into this weekend.
“Our sponsors and supports stood behind us, which I feel is
terrific. They are all great to us and I’m very happy to be
carrying decals showing the latest FireHouse album, called “Full
Circle”. Those guys have been awesome to work with over the last
two years with and even my 20 year old son thinks they’re albums
rock”.
Menards Pole Qualifying is set to kick off at 5:40 PM EST and
the green flag is scheduled to drop for the ARCA Pennsylvania
125 at 3:00 PM EST on Saturday. The race will be aired live on
SPEED.

Steve Fox and Wayne Peterson Team up for
Pocono ARCA 200
Berwick, PA (June 8, 2011)- After withdrawing from the upcoming
ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards event at Pocono
International Raceway days earlier, Steve Fox of Hazleton, PA
will in fact be in competition come Saturday in the Pocono ARCA
200. Fox, a part time driver in the series, has made several
starts at Pocono, most recently behind the wheel of the Universe
Racing/FireHouse Dodge Charger and it was recently announced
that the team’s entry had been withdrawn from the event. That’s
when Fox got the call from his friend, Wayne Peterson.
“I got my ARCA license in 2007”, noted Fox. “At the time no one
at all was willing to put me in a racecar, that was until I
spoke with Wayne Peterson, who I was going to drive for part
time but the deal never materialized”.
This deal in sorts is a reunion. Fox and Peterson have been in
touch since that initial phone call and even though Fox drives
for another team now, he feels like this is a great opportunity
to help give his sponsors some exposure, plus his fans want to
seem him in competition.
“We had to withdraw the Universe Racing entry, which was a real
bummer”, he said. “However, this still gives us the awesome
opportunity to not only compete, but also to be around the ARCA
scene, which is really important in motorsports today. I can’t
thank Wayne and his bunch enough, they’re a great group of
people”.
Menards Pole Qualifying for the Pocono
ARCA 200 will kick off at 2:05 PM on Friday. The 200-mile race
is slated for a 1:30 PM start on Saturday. The race can be
viewed on SPEED TV at 8 PM on Saturday and can be heard live by

Steve Fox Forced to Withdraw From First
Pocono Event
Berwick, PA (May 31, 2011)- After a hard crash in the Weis 125
last August at Pocono International Raceway, Steve Fox and the
Universe Racing crew went to work to rebuild the racecar that
Fox pilots in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. Even
with limited fund, the team was determined to have a good
showing with the #50 Universe Towing/FireHouse Dodge Charger
this June in the ARCA 200 at Pocono. Unfortunately, the plan to
compete in the upcoming event flip flopped following a meeting
this week with Fox and his car owner, Tony Aquilino.
“The car wasn’t 100% ready and we only have a week left before
heading to Pocono”, Fox said Monday evening. “Both myself and
Tony feel horrible to withdraw our entry for the Pocono 200 in
June, but missing this event will give us more time to better
prepare for the Pennsylvania 125 at Pocono this August”, he
said.
Fox stressed that he was upset during the meeting and wanted to
have a good showing for the team’s fans and supporters and then
following the meeting he began to see things in reality.
“The fact is that the car had to be totally rebuilt. We still
have a little work to do and haven’t had any testing what so
ever, so who knows what the car would have done. In hindsight,
after meeting with Tony I realize that this is the best choice
for us as a team to focus on the second Pocono race and it will
hopefully line us up for a finish to be proud of”.
Along with missing the first Pocono event, Fox is equally upset
that he won’t be able to debut the new FireHouse album, “Full
Circle” on the car in June. The brand new album is scheduled for
release on June 1st.
“All I can say is that we’ll put this aside and focus on the
August race. If all goes well then, hopefully we can get another
show or two in elsewhere”, said Fox.

Steve Fox and
FireHouse Preparing for Busy 2011
Hazleton, PA (February 15, 2011)- Although the 2011 ARCA Racing
Series presented by Menards racing season kicked off at Daytona
with Bobby Gerhart of Pennsylvania taking his seventh Daytona
victory, another Pennsylvanian, Steve Fox and his crew have been
hard at work preparing the Universe Racing FireHouse Dodge
Charger for both Pocono races this season.
Following a crash near the end of the second event at Pocono
last season, the car will be re-skinned, which means that the
hood, which features the band FireHouse, will be up for an
upcoming eBay auction and all proceeds will be donated to Alex’s
Lemonade Stand, the team charity. Prior to the auction, the hood
will be autographed by band members CJ Snare, Bill Leverty,
Michael Foster and Allen McKenzie and of course the pilot of the
racecar, Steve Fox.
More announcements in regards to the entire schedule for
Universe Racing will be announced near spring and not only the
race team has big plans. FireHouse will be debuting a new album,
which will be their first since 2003. The band plans to have the
album release near spring.

SCCA Style,
Steve Fox Sings in the Rain
Berwick, PA (August 17, 2010)- Most people in the racing world
know Steve Fox this season as the driver of the #50
FireHouse/Universe Towing and Autobody Dodge Charger in the ARCA
Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards. However, after
making his Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) start with his Van
Diemen RF96 Formula Continental last weekend, Fox can also be
known as a road racer, as he finished in the second spot while
competing in the rain on the road course at Pocono International
Raceway in Long Pond, PA.
It was the 40th Anniversary SCCA National Championship SCCA
races at Pocono and after competing at the facility two weeks
prior in the ARCA event, Fox hoped to get a great finish for
Universe Racing and all of the teams supporters. Despite the wet
track conditions, Fox drove consistently to score a runner-up
effort, which is his career best.
“After the weekend we had here two weeks ago with the ARCA car
it feels great to get a good finish for Universe Racing and all
of our guys”, noted Fox.
He was also impressed with the Van Diemen RF96 Formula
Continental that he raced for the very first time.
“To run this well at a national event my first time in this car
really makes me feel good about our chances for some solid
performances in the future. I’m hoping that our sponsors,
supporters and fans are as happy as I am. Afterall, we share the
same sponsors between our ARCA and SCCA efforts”.

Good Run Ends Three Laps Short for Steve
Fox at Pocono
Berwick, PA (August 2, 2010)- Following a mediocre run in June,
Steve Fox and the Universe Racing team made wholesale changes to
the #28 Universe Towing/FireHouse Dodge Charger and headed to
Pocono International raceway last weekend with high hopes of a
strong run in the Weis 125 with the ARCA Racing Series presented
by RE/MAX and Menards.
Fox started 24th on the grid moved into the 19th
spot following a caution flag on the first lap. Compared to the
last Pocono event, the driver seemed much happier and more
content with the car.
“The car was very good all day”, said Fox. “We made a lot of
changes since our last visit to Pocono and all of the hard work
really paid off”.
Fox came into the pits for service under the second caution flag
and headed back on track with hopes of a solid top 20 finish.
Those hopes were smashed with three laps remaining when the
right front tire on Fox’s car blew out and short the car into
the turn three wall.
“The car felt funny in turn one and then it was fine in turn
two”, the driver recalled. “When I got in three it just shot up
the track. I barely had time to react, it just happened so
fast”.
Fox was taken to the infield care center before being
transported to a local hospital for x-rays. Fortunately, his
only injuries are bruised ribs and a tore up racecar.
“It really stinks and I hate it for the team and all of our
sponsors and supporters”, said Fox. “We’ll just have to tear the
car down to see exactly what we’ve got ahead of us, but as for
now it might be a while before we get back on track with the
ARCA car”.
Robb Brent added his name to the list of first-time winners in
the series this season when he picked up the Pocono victory over
Dakoda Armstrong. Fox was forced to settle for a 31st
place finish.

Fox and Universe Racing Set for Return to
Pocono
Berwick, PA (July 10, 2010)- Steve Fox and the Universe Racing
Team are ready to do action in the Weis 125 with the ARCA Racing
Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards on Saturday, July 31 at
Pocono International Raceway.
Following a decent appearance at the “Tricky Triangle” back in
June, Fox and the entire team are focused on the upcoming event,
which will take place immediately after the running of the
inaugural Camping World Truck Series event at the facility.
“We have all of the body damage repaired and we’re set for our
return to Pocono”, noted Fox. The car is at Wiz’s shop (Crew
Chief) and he’s putting the race set up in it. We’ll be in good
shape for this one”.
To say the least, Fox was disappoint with his outing in the June
race at the track. However, he feels that the team’s luck will
turn around. “We had a better car than what the end result
showed in June”, he said. “We had some radio and pit problems,
which hurt because I couldn’t let the crew know what the car
needed during pit stops. We’ve got that all taken care of and
I’m really looking forward to a good showing for all of our
great sponsors and team supporters”.
Speaking of which, the band FireHouse, is a huge supporter of
Universe Racing. FireHouse will be performing with Skid Row at
Penn’s Peak, in the Pocono area on Friday, July 30 at 8 PM. Race
fans and rock-n-roll lovers alike are invited to come out to
enjoy the evening after Menards Pole qualifying at Pocono.
The #28 FireHouse/Universe Racing Dodge Charger will hit the
track for practice and qualifying on Friday, July 30. Drivers in
the Weis Markets 125 ARCA Racing Series event will take the
green flag at 3 PM EST and the race will be shown live on SPEED.
Frustration Results in 22nd
Place Effort for Fox at Pocono
Long Pond,
PA (June 6, 2010)- Steve Fox and the Universe Racing headed into
the weekend at Pocono International Raceway for the
Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 in the ARCA Racing Series
event, presented by RE/MAX and Menards with three goals in mind.
The First was to qualify through time and second, to bring the
car home in one piece. The third was to earn a top 20 finish,
which nearly happened for
the #28 FireHouse/Universe Towing Dodge Charger. As the old
saying goes, ‘two out of three ain’t bad’.
Fox time trialed 21st quickest on Friday and felt
that he had a good piece for Saturday’s 200-mile event. Saturday
morning Fox, along with several competitors, signed autographs
prior to the drivers meeting before taking to the speedway.
Typically plagued with yellow flags, the team set up the racecar
for short runs. The plan for Fox was to take is easy over the
first half of the event and then kick it up a notch for the
second half. However, the cautions never fell into place and
Mikey Kile, who led most of the race, set a blistering pace and
nearly lapped the entire field.
“Compared to Friday we were off all day”, said Fox. “The first
half of race was pretty decent. The car ran well, but it was
really loose in turn three”, he said. “The crew tried to adjust
on it and it didn’t get any better”.
There was added frustration during a green flag stop when the
car fell off of the jack. “I got really frustrated at that point
because we were running decent”, noted Fox. “That’s the way it
goes and we’ll take what we learned and make it much better for
July”.
The timing of first caution flag didn’t help matters.
“Many of the teams have already pitted and then the yellow came
out”, said Fox. “It hurt us and we lost laps on those exchanges
also”.
Fox brought out the second and final yellow with 11 laps
remaining. “The car was so loose in three and very tight in turn
one. I drove it into one too hard and just scraped the wall and
then went around”, said the driver.
“At least the car’s in one piece and we have something to go off
of for July when ARCA returns to Pocono. “We’re down a little
bit on power, but didn’t show what we’re capable of. I expected
a better result from the team and a better result for our great
sponsors”, he said. “I feel like we let them down”.
Fox summed up the day a positive note and has begun to focus on
the next event in seven weeks. “It’s not the finish that we
hoped for and doesn’t reflect on how well we could have run. All
I can say is that we’ll get them next time”.
Despite having a finish that was not to his liking, Fox praised
team owner Tony Aquilino for all that he’s done. “Tony put a lot
into this effort and he’s excited about returning in July. I
really appreciate everything that he’s done for us”.
Craig Goess took the lead following the last caution flag and
took the checkers for his first career ARCA victory. Fox crossed
the strip in the 22nd position.
In conjunction with Alex’s Lemonade Stand and following the
event, Fox and a fellow competitor headed to a local Quarter
Midget track to sign autographs for a child with cancer.
Fox also noted
that the team would have never been able to complete in the
event if it weren’t for the
team
supporters, which include Universe Towing and Autobody,
FireHouse, AFR Productions, American Truck, Valve Tech Sales
LLC, Tri State Towing Equipment, Himmer Graphics, Weigand Combat
Handguns, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, G-Force Racing Products, Long
Island Skydiving and StockCar Racing Experience at Pocono
Raceway.
Steve Fox
and Universe Racing will hit the track again on Saturday, July
31 in the running of the Weis Markets 125 at Pocono. The ARCA
Racing Series event is slated to begin at 3:00 PM (EST) and will
be televised live on SPEED.
Steve Fox Times 21st Quickest
at Pocono
Long Pond,
PA (June 4, 2010)- Steve Fox and the Universe Racing team took
the #28 FireHouse/Universe Towing Dodge Charger out to Pocono
International Raceway Saturday for Menards Pole Qualifying on
Friday with hopes of making the field for the
Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 in the ARCA Racing Series
event, presented by RE/MAX and Menards.
“The car was pretty good in the morning practice, but it was a
little loose in turn three”, said Fox. The Universe Racing crew
went to work and made some adjustments before Fox returned to
the speedway.
Evidently the talented crew did their job well, as Fox picked up
a half second from his quickest practice lap. He laid down a lap
of 58.28 (154.427 MPH), which was good enough for the 21st
starting spot. Mikey Kyle grabbed the pole position for the
200-mile show.
Fox was happy with his effort, yet felt that he left a little on
the table. “I probably could have driven it just a little
harder. It drove the best that it did all day and we have a
great car for the race”.
There’s no doubt that the entire team recognizes all of their
supporters for their first start of the season, which include
Universe Towing and Autobody, FireHouse, American Truck, Valve
Tech Sales LLC, Tri State Towing Equipment, Himmer Graphics,
Alex’s Lemonade Stand, G-Force Racing Products, Long Island
Skydiving and StockCar Racing Experience at Pocono Raceway.
Steve Fox and the Universe Racing
FireHouse Dodge Charger will start the
Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200
in the ARCA Racing Series event at 1:00 PM (EST). The race will
be aired on SPEED at 4:00 PM (EST)..

Clearfield, PA (May 12, 2010)- ARCA Racing Series presented by
RE/MAX and Menards driver Steve Fox, along with team members
from Universe Racing joined FireHouse last Saturday at the
Clearfield PA Outdoors and Sports Show for a meet and greet with
the popular band members. It was a momentous occasion in a sort,
as it was the first time that the band saw the FireHouse Dodge
Charger that Fox will use for competition in the upcoming ARCA
200 at Pocono International Raceway on June 5.
