Steve Fox Nets a 23rd
Place Effort at Pocono
Berwick, PA- Following a
career-best qualifying
effort of 20th
at Pocono International
Raceway two weekends
ago, Steve Fox of
Hazelton, PA had high
hopes heading into the
Pocono 125 in the ARCA
Racing Series presented
by Menards. The race
didn’t go as planned for
Fox and his team and the
net result was a
disappointing 23rd
place finish.
“We had a great
car for this event last
season and I thought for
sure we’d have our best
career finish this year.
It just didn’t work out
that way”, noted Fox.
“The car was
decent and we had a good
qualifying run, but we
had some problems once
race day rolled around.”
Fox was holding
his own and worked up to
16th during
the event until a green
flag pit stop put he and
the team behind the
eight ball.
“We pitted under
green and unfortunately,
the car fell off the
jack. Things like this
happen and it’s just our
luck, as our hopes were
really high. We went
laps down and then
logged laps to the end.
At least the car is in
one piece and we saw the
checkers, that’s the
most important part”.
Typically after
the second Pocono event
Fox sets focus on the
following season but
this year is a little
different, as the pilot
of The SouthSide Dodge
Charger plans to compete
a little more this
season.
“We’re planning
to make another ARCA
start this year and I’ll
be making my debut in
the NASCAR Camping World
Truck Series as well,
which I’m really looking
forward to”, he said.

Steve Fox Bringing “The SOUTHSIDE” to Pocono
Berwick, PA (August 2, 2012)- When Steve Fox hits Pocono
International Raceway theis weekend for the running of the
Pennsylvania ARCA 125 presented by Menards he and his team will
have a new supporter on the hood of the #3 Universe Racing Dodge
Charger. The SOUTHSIDE, an indie feature motion picture that
shares the tragic true story of 19 year old Robert Areizaga
Jr.’s final months leading to his untimely death will be proudly
displayed on the team’s racecar.
Robert Areizaga Jr. was born and raised in Yonkers, NY. After
struggling through a series of trials and tribulations commonly
faced by urban youth, Robert realized he needed to change his
life and decided to take the Yonkers Civil Service Police Exam.
Shortly after he learned he had passed the exam, Robert was
brutally stabbed to death at a house party in White Plains, NY.
A life filled with promise was cut short.
Coming off his best career finish at Pocono, Fox is optonistic about an
even better run and he’s phsyched about The South Side being on
his car.
“Tony Aquilino, my car owner, is one of the actors in the
motion picture and helping him promote the film is just one way
to help with giving hom something back after everything that
he’s done for my racing career over the years”, said Fox.
“I hope that we have a car that is just as good
or even better than the one that we had for the Pocono race last
year. If so, we should be in great shape to get our best finish
yet.”
The SOUTHSIDE is written and directed by record-breaking
director, Gregori J. Martin (director of the Emmy-nominated
series The Bay and recently released vampire thriller Raven).
The film stars Kristos Andrews (X Games Skateboarding Champion
and Guinness World Record Holder), Douglas Santiago (star of the
Green/Renzi and Independent Film Channel’s blockbuster hit
Girlfight), Hip-Hop sensation of the early part of the
millennium, Cuban Link (Flowers for the Dead, a tribute to Big
Pun), and featuring Puerto Rican film and TV icon Miriam Colon,
best known for her role as “Mama Montana” in the Universal
Pictures motion picture Scarface.
Additional information regarding The SOUTHSIDE can be found at
the official website: www.newuniversepictures.com
The
Pennsylvania ARCA 125 will begin at 3 PM on Saturday. The event
will air live on SPEED. Practice will be held Friday, beginning

Steve
Fox Ends up 29th in First ARCA Road Course Start
Berwick, PA (July 2, 2012)- After qualifying the #0 car in the
28th spot for the All-American Race Weekend presented
by Global Barter Corporation last weekend. Steve Fox, a part
time competitor in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards
fought brake issues all weekend and the end result was a 29th
place effort in his Wayne Peterson owned entry at New Jersey
Motorsports Park.
“First off, I have to thank Wayne Peterson for my first ARCA
road course opportunity and also to the great folks at New
Jersey Motorsports Park”, noted Fox. “It was a good opportunity
and I was able to learn from it.”
Fox qualified on Saturday and like his fellow competitors,
started Sunday’s event in extreme heat from the get-go.
“No lie, it was probably over 100 degrees during that race and
the brakes on the car just weren’t there. I finally had to throw
in the towel when they went to the floor on lap six and I coxed
it in the next lap and that’s why we ended up where we did”, he
said.

he has competed on these types of tracks with success, mainly in
the SCCA Series. It will also be his first time on the
Thunderbolt road course at NJMP.
“I’m happy that Wayne is giving me this shot”, noted Fox. “Wayne
and I have been friends for years and I’ve occasionally driven

Universe Racing Hoping to Build on Best
Pocono Finish
Berwick, PA (June 22,2012)- Although it took place nearly two
weeks ago, Steve Fox of Hazleton, PA piloted the #3 Universe
Racing Dodge Charger to a 15th place finish at Pocono
International Raceway in the ARCA Racing Series, presented by
Menards. Although Fox admits that he had hoped for a better
effort, he should still be pleased with his finish, which is one
position better than his previous outing at Pocono last August.
“We had such a great car thru the whole race at Pocono last
August. This time we really got tight at the end and it killed
our speed ” said Fox.
Fox is just thrilled that he and the team finished the race
without a scratch on the car.
“We crashed here almost two years ago and had to rebuild the
car, so to come out of this race without even one scratch on the
car is pretty amazing, especially after running 200 miles at
Pocono.”
Although it is a career-best, Fox feels that he let down some of
his supporters and team members. “There are so many great people
that helped the team out to get to this point and we should have
had a better finish for them. That’s the part that’s hard to
take. A better finish for them would be of a reward somewhat, to
show them our appreciation.”
It was the first race of the year with Invis-A-Rack on the
quarter panels of the racecar and Fox hopes that the team
showing at Pocono helped draw some interested to the “Made in
the USA” company, which was featured on “Shark Tank” earlier in
the year.
The next event for Steve Fox and Universe Racing will be the
Pennsylvania ARCA 125 on August 4 at Pocono International
Raceway. The event will air live on SPEED at 3PM EST. If all
goes well and if there is funding in place, Fox may be making
his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start the same
afternoon.

Hazleton’s
Steve Fox set to run ARCA 200 at Pocono
By: Dino Oberto
(HAZLETON, PA
6-4-12) When the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards visits
Pocono Raceway this Saturday for the ARCA 200, there will be the
tour title contenders plus a handful of development teams lined
up for the 80-lap 200 mile race.
However, when it comes to Pocono and ARCA, there is always a bit
of local flare and Saturday’s race will be no different as
Hazleton’s Steve Fox is set to compete.
Teamed once again with car owner Tony Aquilino of the Bronx, NY,
Fox will be making his seventh start at Pocono and with ARCA.
And don’t think that those minimal starts
would make Fox any less untested against some of the bigger
outfitted teams.

Born and Made in the USA- Invis-A-rack and
Universe Racing Ready for Pocono
Berwick, PA (May 14,2012)- Universe Racing is proud to announce
that it has teamed up with Donny McCall of Sparta, NC and his
company, “Invis-A-Rack” for the upcoming ARCA Racing Series,
presented by Menards event at the freshly repaved Pocono
International Raceway. Since airing on “Shark Tank” on ABC in
January and then on the ABC Worldwide news earlier this month,
Invis-A-Rack has been on an upward trend because of its
popularity of being an innovative, all American made product.
The partnership between both parties at Pocono in the American
Stock Car Racing Series (ARCA) is a perfect blend.
According to the company website, Invis-A-Rack is the most
innovative cargo management system ever developed. Their claim
their patented design allows users to transform his or her
pickup truck into a very versatile truck. The Invis-A-Rack lets
you maintain the look of your original pickup truck during the
time you don’t need a pickup or ladder rack and it’s designed
for multiple uses.
The Invis-A-Rack isn’t just a kayak and canoe rack. It’s not
just a work truck rack. It’s all of that and more. It’s the four
wheel drive of cargo racks and because of its design, it’s the
most fuel efficient truck rack on the market today. The Invis-A-Rack
is proudly made in the USA and is designed to carry up to 500
pounds of tools or toys.
All of the members from Universe Racing, especially the driver
from Hazelton, PA, Steve Fox, are thrilled about the upcoming
ARCA 200 and hope to have a great showing in the June 9th
event.
“We has an excellent car in the last event here”, noted Fox.
“Although this place is totally different now and with the new
asphalt, we’ll be hauling the mail here for sure. I’m excited to
have the opportunity to race for Tony Aquilino and Universe
Racing and I’m ecstatic to have Donny and Invis-A-Rack on board
with us for this upcoming race. I feel that Donny’s approach on
business is honest and he’s destined to do well with all of his
hard work and dedication that he’s put into it.”
McCall is equally excited about teaming up with Fox and Universe
Racing for Pocono and said, “We’re excited to have the
opportunity to work with Universe Racing for the upcoming Pocono
event. Who would have thought a few months back that Invis-A-Rack
would be the main sponsor on a racecar at Pocono? I’m really
looking forward to working with Universe Racing and I hope that
we can build our relationship moving forward.

Steve
Fox and Jim Peruto Team up for SVRA Sebring Endurance Classic
(March 6, 2012)- Steve Fox has been known to race anything with
wheels and that was the case last weekend when Fox and his
teammate and car owner for the event, Jim Peruto headed south to
Sebring, FL to run the 2012 Sports Vintage Racing Association's
"Sebring Endurance Classic". Both drivers had a blast in the
three-day event and they even brought back some decent finishes
along the way.
Following practice and qualifying sessions, Fox took to the
track Sunday in a stockcar that was formerly driven by 2012
Daytona 500 winner, Matt Kenseth. The car is a gem of sorts, as
it is one of the only Chevrolets that Kenseth had driven in his
NASCAR career.
Fox finished the race in the fourth position and then he and
Peruto set their sights on the enduro event.
Both Fox and Peruto teamed up and both planned to take turns at
the wheel on Sunday in the 90-minute enduro. Peruto took the
green flag and ran the first 35 minutes before handing the
controls to Fox. Fox headed back to the speedway and
unfortunately the panhard bar on the car broke and ended the day
for both drivers.
“We had a blast and I really have to thank Jim Peruto for the
opportunity”, noted Fox. “We had a great car and it felt so good
getting back into one and running Sebring, it’s a great
facility”.
He continued, “The only way this trip could have been any better
is if Tony Aquilino, the owner of the ARCA team that I driver
for could have made it. That would have been icing on the cake!”
Although they didn’t bring home the big trophy in this one, both
drivers are excited about hitting the track again with hopes of
the overall victory.
Making like a big wheel at NASCAR
What does somebody who
unintentionally puts racing stripes on cars because she
can’t parallel park (I was born without that gene) know from
NASCAR?
Not enough to fill even a little bit of a stock car gas
tank. Listen to me; you’d never know less than a week ago I
wasn’t even sure what a stock car was.
I had a five-speed Mazda Miata convertible forever that they
practically had to pry me out of after I traded it in; I
loved it that much. Does that count?
